Buffet breakfast in Sabah Hotel
Restaurant/Places to Eat in Sabah Hotel
Swimming Pool in Sabah Hotel
Extensive breakfast including porridge, nasi lemak, western pancakes and croissants, fresh fruit, coffee and tea, and eggs to order. Decent sized pool with multiple small areas, and sundeck with deck chairs. My friend had an amazing upper floor suite - my room was a similar size but did not have the modern wood floor and lighting throughout. The location I found was great because it wasn't directly downtown, and it was easy to find Grab to visit nearby places. They have a local guy kind of hanging out a lot in the parking lot, Star, who does reasonably priced tours and pickups throughout Sandakan. Overall the dinner food was decent as well, though perhaps not always hot. I appreciated the mural art reflecting animals around Sandakan, and the educational displays about animals in the region. Overall, a really good visit. The team seemed to communicate really well because they answered all my questions and helped me book local reservations. One more positive - random wild animals creep around the dining area - including some pretty large lizards, as well as many tropical birds. The price point seems very reasonable, and I would stay at this property again.

Mackers

The hotel was bigger and fancier than we thought. Great facilities overall, lots of options for breakfast (including some vegan), the staff is very friendly and helpful, there's a beautiful pool and great room service. The room has an outdated style that doesn't match the overall style of the hotel, which was a bit surprising, but it is spacious and the beds are super comfortable, the shower is great. We stayed at Sabah Hotel before going to Kinabatangan and we were gonna stay in a different hotel on our return. That second hotel was terrible, so we happily re-booked Sabah and went back to their cozzy rooms. Would 100% recommend it and stay there again.

We arrived late and were heading out early the next day to undertake a 4 day tour. The staff were used to this and able to help us with storing our luggage until our return. Cannot fault the room which was large and had everything we required. We had food at the bar area on our late arrival which was excellent and when we returned we visited the Chinese restaurant which again was excellent and great value. Pool area was enjoyable and vast.

This is definitely a four-star hotel based on hotel appearance, pool & gym, and breakfast (as well as the professionalism of the hotel manager to correct any issues !!) - Junior Suite was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed / however the shower was weak and the cable television was intermittent - also the spacious balcony had no shade and broken deck furniture - overall a relaxing stop-over hotel

Nice relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. The pool area and tropical flora surroundings was a great welcome to Sabah on our arrival in Sandakan ahead of our trip deeper into the rainforest, we even met a large monitor lizard wandering around the pool area. Rooms were large and comfortable. Only a very short Grab ride down into Sandakan, but necessary given the heat and limited pavements.
